Garment measurements and tolerances: make fit review repeatable.

Create a garment measurement chart with named points, methods, base size, grading, tolerances and an approval record.

Size labels are not measurements. A repeatable chart states exactly where and how each point is measured, then records the buyer's grading and acceptance tolerance.

01 · RFQ PREPARATION

Name every point of measure

Use a consistent point name, a diagram or written method and the unit of measure. Clarify whether the garment is laid flat, fastened, stretched or relaxed.

02 · RFQ PREPARATION

Choose the controlling size

Identify the base size used for development and the exact approved sample. A size label alone cannot show where a measurement was taken.

03 · RFQ PREPARATION

State grading explicitly

List the change from one size to the next for each point. Do not assume one grade rule applies to every dimension or garment type.

04 · RFQ PREPARATION

Treat tolerance as a buyer decision

Set tolerances only after considering the product, measurement method and intended acceptance process. Ask the supplier to confirm feasibility; do not present an arbitrary number as a universal standard.

05 · RFQ PREPARATION

Keep an auditable record

Record requested, sample and reviewed values in separate columns, with the sample ID, reviewer, date and disposition for each out-of-tolerance point.

FINAL CHECK

Keep assumptions out of the purchase record.

Only use product, performance, authorization and commercial claims that can be supported for the exact reference. Record the approved sample, written specification and quotation before placing an order.

Use the sample request, review the destination preparation guides, or contact OUTERFRAME with a complete RFQ.

BUILD THE REQUEST

Put the checklist into one RFQ.

Use verified details as facts and carry every unresolved field forward as a question for written confirmation.
